Our little Plymouth Barred Rock pullet, Checkers, laid her first egg last week. Isn't it so adorable. In the photo, you can see how small it is compared to the adult hen eggs.
Her egg is in the middle. It is more of a deep brown color. The Buff Orpington lays the pink eggs and the Ameraucana lays the green eggs.
Here is a photo of Checkers to refresh your memories.

Checkers deserves a treat, dont you think?
By the way, she's one contented looking hen :)
This is the first time I have seen a green colour egg.
I finally got this posted and the same day one of our ducks laid their first egg. I am trying to figure out which one it was though. I will post more info later. Sunita, she is a very content hen. They are all very pampered LOL
Congrats, Jessica! Not only is that hen cute, but she's now going the way of all good hens. I agree with Sunita that she deserves a treat.
Yay, Checkers! I can't wait to have chickens here. It's a goal for next year. I promise to pamper my chickens, too! How old is Checkers? I take it that her eggs will start to get larger as she grows older? I obviously have a lot to learn about hens!
