Macro Monday - Spathiphyllum Maybe

Note: This post was prepared and scheduled in advance. I am in Virginia for my brother's interment at Arlington National Cemetery. I will be back home and posting on Thursday.

First off, Blessed Yule to all who celebrate. The Winter Solstice is upon us and the darkest day of the year begins. However, this means that the daylight hours will begin to lengthen soon after. What a great time to reaffirm our spiritual and physical lives!

On to the photography. The other day when we went to Tulips, we had this vased at our table. I am pretty sure it is in the Spathiphyllum family as it is similar to the Peace Lily. If anyone knows for sure, please let me know so I can correct this post. I am not as familar with houseplants and tropicals as I am hardy outdoor plants.

Anyhow, I took a regular photo and a macro photo. I find it interesting that even in plants, the reproductive organs look *ahem* adult in nature.

Sort of looks like Anthurium to me. Nice closeup regardless.

So sorry to hear about your brother. My condolences. :(

The second shot is excellent! It does look like a peace lily, doesn't it?

Hi Jessica,
Wow, I just checked in at my blog and saw that message you left last week, sorry it took me so long to respond! It has been a nice break from blogging but I miss it! I wanted to say that it is fine to post a link to my blog for FB.
Good macro shot.
Take care, and may the holidays bring you closer to your family at this difficult time.
Rosey :)
